Happy scribbling with a Belle de Jour!

Apart from having developed that love affair with written words, I also happen to love random scribbling that's why I make it a point to head to bookstores and hunt for the best journals to scribble my thoughts and musings.

I've had a couple of journals in my keeping: from the Cosmo planner, Starbucks planner and even to the proudly Philippine made Muni travel journals. Even if all these have been filled up, I still keep them safely for browsing from time to time.

---------------------> my Cosmo Planner and Muni Travel Journal

This holiday season, I'm so excited to find out that there are couple of journals to be given away like the 2011 BELLE DE JOUR PLANNER by a stylish blog from Ruthilicious: a slice of wine... a glass of cake....

This will be one of the best ways to start 2011 with more reasons to chronicle priceless moments and adventures.

Oh Belle de Jour, please find your way to me =)
Thanks Ruthilicious for this wonderful contest!

To all who'd like to take part in the contest, here's the link:

Advance Happy Holidays to everyone!

Gold is In

Flashback:
I had my first encounter with Pond's cold cream way back my childhood days. I can vividly remember how I enjoy rummaging into my grandmother's closet and found this attractive plastic container with a yellow lid and inscribed with Pond's cold cream on it. What lured me to this thing was that sweet lemon scent that I loved sniffing over and over again. I didn't even know that the thing has to be applied on the face until I saw my grandma massaging it on her face and loving it day in and out.

Fast forward to the present ...
With those fondest memories of Pond's, I came to know of its different line of beauty products and how it has evolved through the years.

I particularly came to like and love its Clear Solution facial scrub and White Beauty moisturizer until this Pond's Gold Radiance line found its way to the shelves of the our favorite beauty and retail stores.

I guess it's time to give this line a try...

The facial foam lived up to my expectations. Two thumbs up! It leaves my skin feeling smooth, fresh and glowing after several use. It kept my skin supple without drying or flaking.

Next in line: Youthful Glow Day Cream SPF 15
Non-greasy is what I would want in a Day Cream and voila! it's what this product has done to my skin so far. I love how it would hide the pores and make it look smoother and radiant looking.

Pond's indeed cares for the woman of today and I'm sure it will continue its legacy in the many years to come.

With fairer skin...

I would certainly want greater opportunities and life-defining moments with 50x more fairer skin!

This not only means more work-related opportunities but opportunities to get noticed, to stand out and to confidently stride along corridors and walkways...

More opportunities to travel in style and more reasons to show my skin without being conscious of my color:)

More opportunities to meet and socialize with people from all walks of life ...

More opportunities would ultimately mean endless days of sunshine because I am more confident that with 50x more fairer skin, I can flaunt it with a big smile:)

Like Earthlingorgeous, I want 50x more fairer skin.

I Dream of Batanes

The wanderlust in each of us takes us to places we never thought possible and leaves us wanting for more real life-changing experiences and breathtaking adventures.
Whether or not we have treaded the far reaches of the earth, I truly believe that "Home is where the heart is".
The 7,107 islands of the Philippines are our priceless treasures and having gone to several places in our country makes me all the more realize that the most beautiful places and extreme adventures just lie within our borders.

There is but one place that intrigues and lures me to no end yet seem to be far from my reach. The closest encounter I have with this place comes from either the glossy pages of travel books/magazines or from vivid details of travel shows like Trip na Trip and Sports Unlimited.

A lot has been told and raved about Batanes and one day I look forward to set foot and immerse in the experience myself.
A place that embodies tranquility and pristine beauty with an enduring mystique is how I'd imagine Batanes to be.

I marvel at the ingenuity and steadfast nature of the Ivatans as they managed to weather the frequent assualts of nature. Those sturdy stonewalled houses capped with thatched roof have withstood the test of time and stand out as works of art born out from their skilled hands. How I would love to slowly walk past these houses and savor the cool weather on a uphill climb. I'm sure this would be one of those precious moments when I could just close my eyes, feel the breeze and be grateful for life's blessings.

There is so much I would want to see and discover about winter in Batanes and hopefully the next time I write about this place, it would be my own story told and moments captured.

** SEA Air operates direct flights from Manila to Batanes.
As the holidays are fast approaching, SEA Air is running a contest for bloggers where winners will get round-trip tickets from Manila to Basco with accommodations in Basco. All you need to do is write a blog entry on why you should be chosen to join the tour. The contest runs from October 27 - December 20, 2010.

This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that I can't afford to miss and pray for a stroke of luck to come my way =)

Time and tide

Water akin to the free-flowing soul ...
Turbulence breached by a comforting calmness ...

Waves have steered the sails farther away
Against unfamiliar, unfeeling empty waters
Beyond the vastness of unconquered realms
As time deftly manage to defy all boundaries

No sooner it would unwittingly sail against the tide
Until the waters wash off the gilded shores
Until the sand glistens across the surface
Until the lingering melancholy ebbs to its rest.

Blighted hope

In the arena of deception and lies
The powerful and wicked
play their games
in the open.

How can you save a people
from a forlorn society
with ideals in disarray?

How can you guarantee
your children of a
better future?

How can you look forward
for tomorrow?

When you can't even
sleep in peace.

It's been quite a long time since my last post and looking back, there's just so much that needs to be filled in like the gaps in between; literally and figuratively speaking.

Join me as I rekindle my love for poetry and all of life's defining moments.

Ciao!

Nocturne

Leave me as daylight's slumber
shuts out the glare and freezes time
in suspended animation ...

Beckon me to the lure of twilight
as it repeatedly awakens me

with an interplay of subliminal neurosis,
a dose of caffeine and neurons going haywire

Keep my thoughts fueled and consuming ...

Make me forget the coming of another daybreak ...

Random Thoughts

Those were the lines you wrote
Though I refused to analyze
They inhabited my thoughts
And how I wish I'd understand.

Was I staring at the illusion
Of someone who waxes and wanes?
Who deftly appeals to my senses
Who leaves me eternally wandering

I would wake up every single day
I would take my slumber every night
I would even count the months and years
Yet forever chasing the mystery of it all.
